Before you ring

Do you charge for a quote?: No, neither the quote nor the measuring visit, within 25 miles. Beyond that the visit is £80, deducted from the job if you go ahead with us.
How soon can you start?: Allow six to ten weeks between accepting the quote and starting on site — that is workshop time, not queueing. Emergencies (break-in, water damage, a door that will not shut) are dealt with within 48 hours.
What timber do you use?: Oak, ash and douglas fir first, all certified. We also work walnut and chestnut on request. We do not use MDF on visible faces: it lasts ten years, not thirty.
Are you insured?: Public liability and structural warranty, both in place. The certificate goes out with every quote, without your having to ask.
Will you work in an occupied home?: Yes. We protect floors and furniture, hoover at the end of each day, and never leave a job open over a weekend without making it secure.
Can we see your work before committing?: The Our work page shows twenty or so jobs, with before and after. And on request we will put you in touch with two recent clients whose job resembles yours.
How is a job paid for?: 30% on order, 40% when fitting starts, the balance on completion. No deposit is asked for before the quote is accepted in writing.
